Little Red Schoolhouse

Word to the wise, don't go to the Little Red Schoolhouse on a Friday. The buildings are closed. And the trails, while nice and shady for the most part, are not stroller friendly. I even read on the website where it said the "exhibits" were closed on Friday. I did not, however, realize that that buildings are the exhibits. But a Friday at the Schoolhouse still beats a Friday sitting around the house. Plus Grandma met us there!

LOOK GRANDMA, A FISH!

I thought I was tired from pushing the stroller for about a mile over just incredibly rough terrain, turns out it's just as tiring to be riding in the stroller that long. So he got a snack and a drink and a nice view of the fish and I got to sit down. We also saw a turtle, lots of birds, and snake. Who needs exhibits!

After about an hour of watching the fish and the birds, we started back toward the car. We took the long way, though, because there are owls in outside cages that we wanted to see. I don't know if Luca could find them, though, since they were in little boxes in the dark recesses of their cages. Maybe something about being nocturnal, who knows. But along side of one of the buildings was a pay phone. I jumped the fence to see if it worked and it actually did. I so wish I had 50 cents and a local number to call. Thought it would be a good idea to get a picture of Luca with it. Something he can take to history class in a few years and show off how his mom used to make him take pictures with antiquated things.

Doesn't it look like he's conducting some super serious and very secret business? When I was listening to the phone it was just a dial tone...

When we were almost home I noticed a funny sign. It's garage sale season, so I'm willing to bet the creator of the sign was intending to suggest something along those lines, but that sure isn't how I read the sign.

Anyone in the market for a baby?
