18 month pictures

Little man is a terrible picture taker and it's always a pain in the rear (not to mention expensive) to get his pics professionally done. So when it came time for the 18 month pictures, I was thinking to myself: "I have a nice camera and an understanding of how to shoot it outside of using auto, why don't I take them!" I even went so far as to think: "Surely with me taking them it will go so much smoother and he will smile and it'll only take 10 minutes!"

Yeah... not so much.

But, a couple different spots, some awesome fall props and about an hour and 70 pictures later, there are a dozen or so that turned out really well.

And can I tell you the story about what he's wearing? I didn't have anything I liked for pictures, so this morning I figured we'd find something in Target's clearance, I've had good luck there before. Nothing. So we went across the street to babies r' us, found a plain shirt. Figured for $2 I could add a little something to it. Then I saw a vest and thought "YES! Exactly what he needs!" They only had 4T. Being the crazy person I am, I figured I could find a free pattern on the internet, how hard can it be to make one myself? So I go to walmart to buy fabric, and my walmart doesn't sell fabric. Look for any clearance clothes that I could chop up, ended up finding a shower curtain with a cool pattern. Luca takes a nap and I get to work. Don't have extra fabric to line it, so cut up one of the shirts that was in the Donate pile. It took forever, and it doesn't fit quite right since I couldn't try the pattern on my sleeping kid. BUT, it worked for pictures, and I'm going to try again since there's plenty of shower curtain left... Oy.

Look at all those teeth!
